What is the web about? Two perspectives

On the one hand, Jonathan Zittrain argues that the web is composed of disinterested acts of kindness, curiosity and trust.



On the other, Evgeny Morozov suggests that the net helps oppressive regimes stifle dissent.



Six of one, half a dozen of the other, perhaps?
